tv: last comic standing: john reep final 3

  • Sep. 6th, 2007 at 10:42 PM
This is the final 3 performance by John Reep of Hickory, NC! He deserved to make it to the final 3 and this bit proves it. The uncle changing the brakes was classic! Loved this and vote for him!

tv: Californication

  • Sep. 4th, 2007 at 1:39 PM
I was able to catch the first three episodes of this new show on Showtime last weekend.  It stars David Duchovny as Hank Moody, a writer who's going through a bout with writer's block and his life is littered with one night stands because the woman he wants is the one he can't have.  I really need to get Showtime since they also air Big Brother After Dark...

TV: Real Estate Pros

  • Jul. 6th, 2007 at 10:52 PM
If you loved watching the first season of Flip This House with Richard Davis'  Trademark Properties group out of Charleston, SC then you're not alone.  I loved to watch him and his team flip houses because they were down to earth and I felt I could learn some of the trade secrets of real estate investing from them.  They were replaced by the Montelongo's from San Antonio and those guys just came off as rude.  Anyway, the show is back on, but not on A&E, it's now on TLC and it's called The Real Estate Pros - check it out - the new season with all new episodes is on now.

TV: Hidden Palms

  • Jul. 4th, 2007 at 11:18 PM
Has anyone out there been watching Hidden Palms? I have only watched a couple of episodes, and it wasn't bad as far as summertime TV goes. It's one of those night time soap opera dramas full of men and women, boys and girls skipping from one luxury home to another and bouncing from one partner to another. I predict that if the show were to run for 20 years, the entire town would be related to each other from all the bed hopping going on. They did announce on tonight's episode that this was the series finale not the season finale. Doesn't that usually mean the show is ending for good?

TV: Deadliest Catch

  • Jun. 19th, 2007 at 2:38 PM
I can't believe I forgot all about this show beginning a new season.  I think it started back in April, but I'm hoping to be able to catch most of the episodes I've missed through reruns.  I noticed when I went home at lunch that the season pass I setup last night had already recorded 5 different episodes, so I guess they're re-airing some today.  Thank goodness.  Can't wait to get home, get some things done, kick back and watch some of these...

Who's Victor Married to Now?

  • Jan. 22nd, 2007 at 3:28 PM
I used to be an avid watcher of the soaps years ago, but I just don't have the time for it anymore. Sometimes, I'll catch a little of "The Young and the Restless" on the tube at lunch either at home or in a restaurant, and I always wonder who Victor is married to now. It seemed for years he'd switch between being married to Ashley and Nikki, but now I'm not sure. My parents watch Y&R and B&B religiously. Every night when I call to see how they're doing, they usually report that they're fine and have just laid down to watch "the shows." That means, please tell us about your day quickly so we can get our daily dose of soaps before drifting off to sleep. If you don't have time to watch the soaps, you can get Soap Opera Updates online to see how all your favorite character's story lines are coming along and find out who Victor is married to or sleeping with (or trying to) or if he's fathered any more children...

I am a hard core boob tube watcher. I have 2 tivo's connected to my wireless network and sometimes I still can't record everything I want to see. Some nights there's hardly anything on, then other nights there's a whole slew of good shows and not enough recorders. I ran across a site today that's Everything TV: News, Reviews and More. The site allows you and others in the eyetab community to vote on tv shows which makes them more visible to others in the community. Users can read, vote, submit and discuss the shows via a "tab" system containing tv info.

New Year's Eve Eve

  • Dec. 30th, 2006 at 11:19 PM
It's New Year's Eve Eve and we got the truck and my car cleaned up and shiny today, just in time for the rain to come tomorrow and Monday. We spent a couple of hours on that, then got a quick shower, picked up Amy and went to Micasita for some Mexican. I love that place. We had some good ol' chips and salsa and some good conversation. We picked up our lotto tickets and maybe we'll have to take a vacation day next week to go pick up some loot! We took Amy home because she has to work tomorrow, then we went to SC so I could get some beverages for New Year's Eve; they only sell my beverages in McColl, so we got that then went to Wally World to pickup a few things, too. No big plans in store for tomorrow - we'll probably stay in and watch the ball drop - I'm not big on getting out with all the crazies on New Year's Eve. I talked to my Marthies this afternoon and they went out shopping to get some after Christmas deals. She told me that her sister, my emargs left her a voicemail to tell her that she would be so glad when deer season was over because she felt like a "deer widow!" OMG - that's funny right there, I don't care who you are. I talked to my crazy Tammydales tonight and she has a much needed day off tomorrow - she is so crazy - I love & miss her so much. She might be down in the 'burg later in January - I hope we can spend a little time together. Well, I'm going to do my vacation thing and watch another episode of "Heroes" and maybe we'll watch "Click," too. G'nite...................

Friday!

  • Dec. 29th, 2006 at 10:13 PM
Well, it's Friday and the new year is coming in fast. I knew that my week off would go by fast, but I've really gotten a lot done and I could say that I could really get used to not working! Who couldn't? Anyway, my Mom and Dad made it back from Tennessee today - they said the traffic was awful, but they made it home safe. My sister is doing fine, too. I went shopping for a little bit today and got some really good deals at Belk. I bought some new tennis shoes and am ready to start walking again after I ring in the new year. As far as my diet goes, I have been eating things during the holidays that I normally wouldn't, but my weight is still the same give or take a pound. So, I've accomplished my goal of maintaining my weight throughout the holidays and I feel good about that. I think I'm going to chill out now and check out "The Devil Wears Prada" and maybe an episode of "Heroes" on my tivo. later....

Pickler Picked for Sitcom

  • Nov. 9th, 2006 at 10:50 PM

The naive blonde 6th place American Idol finalist from just up the road here in NC has signed a development deal with 20th Century Fox.  The plan is for Kellie to star in her own sitcom based on her life before Idol fame. This should be interesting - it might even be funny and entertaining - she's from NC, so I know I'll have to give it a try if and when it airs.

Read the news article, Kellie Pickler, Sitcom Idol, from E! Online for more on NC's small-town girl with the red high-heel shoes...

tonight...

  • Oct. 7th, 2006 at 11:14 PM
Tonight, Jimmy and I watched the season premiere of Friday Night Lights that I had on my Tivo. It was pretty good - I think this might be a really good show. We are now watching last week's episode of Boston Legal - the one with the 'big momma' transvestite and Denny's possible number 7 midget. OMG this show is hilarious! I can't believe that I didn't watch this last season - if you don't watch this, you seriously need to start - Boston Legal, Tuesday nights at 10PM - tape it - it's a hoot!

getting ready for bed...

  • Oct. 6th, 2006 at 12:17 AM
I talked to my Mom tonight and she sounded good - I was so glad to hear that she'd been able to keep her supper down and she sounded like she was in good spirits - thanks to all of you who sent well wishes and prayers - she really appreciated it and so did the rest of us.

Well, the chics on Survivor finally stuck together for once, and even pulled a couple of the guys in - that was awesome. So, what do you think is in the letter to Izzy from Denny? I have no idea. I do think that the Addison's hot guy is going to take Burke's place at the hospital while Burke is on leave...

I'm going to bed, now because I'm worn out and need some good ol' rest - I hope Jimmy doesn't wake me up too early in the morning - he gets up with the chickens; I'm waiting for him to start crowing one day! Anyway, g'nite all...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...
