This weekend, my husband and I watched Blades of Glory. He had a little homophobia before watching the movie, but wanted to check it out. I knew neither of the skaters played by Will Ferrell and Jon Heder were portrayed as gay men in the movie and thought this would be funny. One of the guys at work was telling us about it and with his taste in movies being similar to mine, I thought I'd like this flick. It was hilarious - from the skating scenes to the one-liners; beginning to end, this movie made me laugh out loud.
Oh yeah, if you check out the extras, you can see American Idol runner up, Bo Bice singing the theme, "Blades of Glory", too. Just in case you've already seen the movie, here's the music video along with a sneak peek at the movie...
In 2002, two rival Olympic ice skaters were stripped of their gold medals and permanently banned from men's single competition. Presently, however, they've found a loophole that will allow them to qualify as a pairs team. Will Ferrell was great as the leather clad sex addict, Chazz Michael Michaels and Jon Heder's performance as the protected and naive Jimmy, aka Little Orphan Awesome was just that, awesome. I really enjoyed this flick much more than I expected. If you like comedy, check this one out & I hope you like it!

When you depend on word-of-mouth marketing for a service you provide, you need something to give people besides a business card so they'll remember who you are and what you do. I was thinking about ordering some pens with a catchy tag line and logo on them to promote my DVD Slideshow service. I've been calling it Picture IT! and using the tag lines, "priceless memories" and "bringing your still photos to life" - I'm open to any suggestions anyone may have. I know some of you out there have seen my work, so hit me up with some comments, please...
I watched Norbit last week and I wasn't all that impressed. It had some funny parts for sure, but it wasn't nearly as good as either of the Nutty Professor movies. Maybe I was expecting too much out of the film since it was an Eddie Murphy comedy, but I just didn't find it as funny as I thought it would be. I think I'd have to agree with Marthie - the dog had one of the funniest lines in the entire movie - now that was a classic! This one's worth watching, but I'm glad I only spent $1.00 to rent it...

I’ve been making DVD slideshows for clients for over 2 years, now and I would love to be able to come up with a business plan to reach a much wider market than the current word-of-mouth marketing that is taking place now. It’s really difficult to explain to people what I do, because it’s not just your typical DVD slideshow – the effects and transitions that are programmed in really make still photographs come to life. I started out making these 2 Christmases ago for my friends and family for Christmas gifts. I really just wanted to do something different – something I’d never done before, so I took my love for photography a step further and made some of the photos I’d gathered over the years and some that I’d taken and burned them on Video CD’s (I didn’t have a PC with a DVD burner at the time). It was a big hit! I made one for my family, Jimmy’s family, my friends (who are like part of my family), one for my husband, and one for my stepchildren to give their mother. The best word to describe one of these little DVD treasures is “priceless.”
Since then, I’ve made these for other people for graduation, memorials, Valentine’s Day, birthdays and anniversaries, Christmas, wedding/shower gifts, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, company functions and family reunions – and they are always a big hit!
Someday soon, I hope to market my DVD’s with my special touch. Perhaps this Information Product Creation Course will help. It's intent is to show the user how to create and market your own information product in with just five hours of work spread out over 35 hours of actual time.

before I post...oops too late! I wanted to give Suzie the official Happy Birthday shoutout on the ol' blog!
lots of stuff on the agenda tonight. I have to finish a DVD for a lady because her son is coming home from college this weekend. I need to walk although I'm tired, but I ate more than usual at lunch today, so I really need to exercise by doing something other than 12 inch curls. After that, we'll watch Survivor and Grey's Anatomy, then BED! I'm sure I'll be ready for some zzzzzzzz's after this busy evening...
